Preventive Care Compliance Tracking
Low compliance with preventive care guidelines (screenings, vaccinations, check-ups) leads to worse health outcomes and higher long-term costs. This project tracked and visualised compliance patterns.
Identified 4 underserved population segments

Dataset
CDC: BRFSS 2015 Survey Data
Key Questions
- Which demographic groups have the lowest rates of routine check-ups and screenings?
- Are there geographic patterns in preventive care compliance?
- What barriers (cost, access, awareness) most strongly predict non-compliance?
Methods
- Descriptive analysis of preventive care measures by demographics
- Logistic regression to identify predictors of non-compliance
- Geographic mapping of compliance rates by state and region
- Segmentation analysis to define target populations for outreach
Results
Four underserved segments were identified: uninsured adults aged 26-34, rural populations 50+ miles from a provider, non-English-speaking households, and adults with no regular healthcare provider. Cost was the strongest single predictor of non-compliance.
Non-Compliance by Population Segment
Recommendations
- Design targeted outreach programmes for each of the four identified segments
- Partner with community organisations to reduce language and cultural barriers
- Advocate for mobile health clinics in rural areas with the lowest compliance rates
- Develop multilingual patient education materials for key preventive services
Limitations
BRFSS is a telephone survey with known non-response bias. Self-reported data may not accurately reflect actual preventive care utilisation. The 2015 data may not capture recent changes in healthcare access.
